How To Blog And Rank Well In The Search Engines

July 11th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Blogging

How to blog and rank well in the search engines is something you should start thinking about once you have your blog up.

Keyword research is the first thing that you’ll want to do. Make sure you do a good job thoroughly. When writing your articles, put the keyword in the title and in the first and last sentence. It doesn’t have to be exactly the first and last sentence just at the beginning and the end of your article. Use various different words in your articles and take them from your keyword list. You can also take different variations of the keyword and sprinkle them throughout the article.

Figure on putting your blog on the main keyword you are trying to promote. You’ll want to do this because 50-60% of the links will be going to that main page. You would promote your landing page a little bit differently than the articles you are writing on your blog.

On your regular pages make sure you have good ad copy. If you were just promoting a product or service you want to always have a blog that goes with the business. This will help you with your SEO.

Once you have a few articles on your blog that are optimized for the main keyword, this is where you’ll target the best traffic potential in some of these how to blog tips and tricks. The first step is to social book mark your articles, submit your RSS feed to various RSS directories, aggregators and search engine submission directories.

Now you’ll get some good links over time but the link value is very low. Keep up a good social book marking plan but make sure you stay consistent.

Now write up some articles and submit them through the article directories. You’ll want to do this because the link value to your social bookmarking will be low. You can even post on blog networks. Make sure your linking stays natural so that it looks like something growing over a period of time.

Bookmarking shouldn’t be an overnight task. You’ll want to slowly bookmark your articles so that it looks natural. Don’t put a whole bunch of links up at once.

Following these steps should be covered in your SEO plan even though the link value is low. This is great bait for the search engine spiders. It will take a week or two sometimes a few months for your site to get indexed by the search engines, but this step is well worth doing.

Web Writing Tricks: Blogging Success Secrets

July 6th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Blogging

If you’re writing for the Web, you know that blogging is hot. Since blogs draw visitors, and you can monetize them, it’s essential that you learn to use blogging to achieve your money-making and other goals online.

I’ve been blogging for a decade, both for myself, and for my clients. Although blogging is straightforward, I’ve learned from my students that it’s easy to get confused when you’re inexperienced. Until I nudge them gently onto the right path, my students get caught up in the minutiae of creating a blog, and six months later still haven’t made any money.

Here are the two basic strategies you must keep in mind to turn each blog you create into an income stream.

1. Create a blog for a single result. As the Web grows, relevance becomes ever more important in getting traffic. Know what results you want from your blog — this means that you must decide what you want your readers to do. Confused readers click away instantly.

Decide what you want your traffic to do. Want to send them to an affiliate offering? Focus on that. Your keywords and links should be directly relevant. If you want your site’s visitors to do something else — perhaps sign up for an email list — create a new blog.

2. Pitch and promote your blog. The more you advertise and promote, the more traffic you’ll get. It’s essential to use as many different forms of promotion as you can.

People trust their friends’ recommendations. Do you have social media accounts at sites like Twitter? Find out where your customers hang out, and interact with them, linking to your blog in the process. This is free.

Pay Per Click is also effective in kick-starting traffic to a new blog.

Remember to develop a linking strategy for promotion. If you focus a little energy on link-building, these links will send an ever-increasing flow of traffic to you over the months and years ahead.

If you’re in a less competitive area, you won’t need many links to get to the top of the search engine results pages.

If you keep these two Web writing strategies in mind: one blog/ one idea, and promoting your blog, you’ll make money.

Just enter your contact information, choose a name for your blog, and you are ready to go. Blog site providers offer a variety of tools to make it even easy for you to publish to your blog. Many also offer design templates to give your blog a nice look.

Following are five tips to help you use blogs to drive traffic to your site. There is much that can be said on this topic. However, we are providing some basic tips as a starting point. As you gain experience as a blogger, you will be able to tweak your blog strategy to drive traffic to your website.

First, pick a topic that you already know about. Sometimes, potentially successful blogs are abandoned because the blog owners stop posting new content for their readers. It will be easier to keep your blog updated if you write about a topic that you are familiar with.

Blogging – Making Money While Enjoying It At The Same Time

March 20th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Blogging

What do you think is the best job in the world? Is it programming or being a CEO of a top company? Or being an entertainer or actor? The best job in the world, in my opinion, is a job that enables you to earn income while having fun at the same time. Often times a 8-5 job is tiring and exhausting.

I would like to work when I want to at my own pace! I want making money by indulging myself in my favorite hobbies. Blogging is one job where I can do just that!

Blogging Gives You the Avenue for Expressing Your Ideas

I am sure you are good at one thing or the other. You may be good at football, you maybe knowing every football player by heart, and you may even know each and every trick of the game! Or you may be good at car driving, as well as have knowledge about every machine and every race of cars. The point is that you must be good at SOMETHING, and in fact, I am sure you ARE!

Blogging can give you a platform where you can write about something you are good at. It doesn’t need to be a great skill or topic; it could be as simple as how to grow vegetables. And as a matter of fact, there is a 70 years old granny out there who is paid $5000 per month for writing about nothing other than growing vegetables!

To write something, it is not necessary that you are a writing expert. Anybody, even a 70 year old retired granny can write a blog these days. Maintaining a blog is getting easier and cheaper nowadays. You don’t even need technical stuff to run a blog.

Different Sources Of Income

One of the several sources of income in blogging is through advertisements. You can sell advertising space one your blog is popular, a higher page rank and a growing list of readers.

You can place Google Adsense ads in your blog to earn ad revenues or offer space for advertising to vendors. It is just as simple as that. Just copy and paste a code in the sidebar, top bar or bottom bar of your blog.

Another way to make money is by offering monthly memberships to the readers of your blog. If your content is really that good, you can get away with $2000-$4000 residual income per month.

One friend of mine earns money by doing just this. He started writing about real estate investment since he had almost 15 years of experiences on the subject! The money he makes nowadays from blogging has been more than what he has earned during his 15 years’ real estate investment career!

Blogging – Building up a Readership

February 25th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Blogging

You’ve at last created a blog plus you’ve created the first post. Now how would you get people to really read what you’re blogging about? Below are great blogging tips on promoting your blog.

1) Quality Content – Interesting content would keep your readership returning. Update the blog regularly. Googlebot, which is Google’s web-crawling robot loves content. The more you update the blog, the more regular the search engine spiders will come back to it.

2) Indulge in blog exchange communities, like BlogCatalog and BlogEngage. Ask other bloggers for their particular opinion on the blog and take their recommendations to soul.

3) Issue an RSS/Atom/XML feed. If you are using Blogger, you’ll be able to turn on RSS feed by clicking on settings in your dashboard and then clicking on-page feed and ensure that your settings are set to yes.

4) Carefully choose your subject titles, taking under consideration what other internet users could possibly be searching for. Use keywords in your title. I suggest signing up to WordTracker. Their report of the most popular queries is published each Tuesday and sent out to over 30,000 subscribers. Technorati.com , is a blog search engine that also lists the most notable search words. The greater targeted your keywords are, the greater your return in search engines is going to be.

5) Involve yourself in commenting on other blogs. You can gain a loyal readership just by offering feedback to your fellow bloggers. The comment feature allows you to put in a link returning to your blog as well.

6) Be sure to include your blog address in forum signatures as well as in your email signature.

7) Submit your blog to directories. Submit your blog’s url to Technorati, Daypop, Blogdex and Popdex etc.
8) Write articles. Include a authors resource box within your article and submit it to article publication sites such as EzineArticles.com

9) If you are using blogging software such as Blogger, there exists a choice to inform the central blog update services (like weblogs.com) whenever you’ve made a new entry to your blog. Ensure that this feature is turned on! In blogger, click publish inside your dashboard and ensure that your settings are set to yes under notify weblogs. Alternatively, you can visit ping-o-matic.com and send out a ping each time you update your blog. This lets everyone know that you’ve just updated your blog.

10) Link to other blogs. Use services like blogrolling, which is very much the same to linking. Blogrolling enables you to maintain an updated list of your favorite blogs. But, don’t develop a long blog roll of websites which you have no intention of returning to. There is nothing more annoying then visiting a blog that has a humongous blogroll.

Be patient, traffic does not happen immediately. The simplest way that I’ve found to increase traffic is by getting to know people. Spend what free time you have, reading blogs, leaving feedback and building friendships. Make an effort to leave comments over the blogs that you visit as often as possible. While you are waiting for the visitors to come, just enjoy blogging. You will end up improving your writing along the way. Ultimately you’ll create a network of not just readers, but friends and loyal supporters. Blogging isn’t just about marketing; it’s about creating lasting relationships.

If writing is an art, then, blogging is a sure way of utilizing words to generate an art. It is because those who are into blogging are the ones who’re artistic on their own sense, carefully choosing words that may best describe their emotions, sentiments, needs, wishes, and everything. In order to succeed in blogging then you will want some perfect blogging tips.
