Learn English Effectively

July 25th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Language

Effective English learning requires focus on English conversation. The most successful students attempt first to master the spoken English before they concentrate on the written language.

All over the world, many students attempt to do the opposite. They make a mistake and learn English with their eyes. Their learning is based on classroom lectures, grammar books and textbooks.

Learners must spend most of their time listening to easy and understandable English conversation in order to master the spoken language. To be fluent in English, to speak like a native speaker, and to develop a clear accent, students must follow this method and listen to English conversation during 80% or more of their study time.

In order to learn effectively students must listen to specific materials. They should concentrate on “easy” English and use materials that they mostly understand. To get most from their learning students should understand about 95% of the material they are learning from.

To accelerate learning process students must also have a lot of repetitions. This factor is called “deep listening”. By listening to the same material many times, learners absorb the language into their subconscious. Therefore, they are able to understand the material, and use it, instantly and effortlessly. Deep listening for two hours a day will be sufficient for most students to achieve English fluency really fast.

Lastly, before attempting formal speech or written English students should first focus on casual “real English conversation”. This kind of English varies from language textbooks and classrooms. Studying this way, students have an opportunity to learn components of real English speech such as slang, idioms, filler words, sentence fragments, and interruptions. These components are very common and necessary for understanding native speakers and for having proper conversations with them.

I came to the conclusion that learning with natural English conversations is the most effective way to achieve language fluency.

Vedic Mathematics Has Early Indic Roots

June 6th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Education

Vedic mathematics is a system of mathematics that can be traced back to the Vedas text produced several thousand years ago in India. These texts were written in Vedic Sanskrit and represent the oldest collection of Sanskrit literature and the oldest Hindu scriptures. Veda being Sanskrit word for knowledge.

A description of Vedic maths commonly begins by noting that it highlights sixteen doctrines or sutras. When read flatly by themselves, these sutras do not have much meaning. That is because they are intended as terse observations, not whole ideas. They are aphorisms that must be fleshed out by demonstration.

His knowledge of this vast literature allowed him to write manuscripts for sixteen volumes on the subject of Vedic maths, including many advanced topics. This significant effort extended over many years. Unfortunately, virtually all of the manuscripts were lost in a house fire during 1956 at the residence of a disciple where the texts were being stored. The following year, in 1957, he rewrote one manuscript eventually published in the USA shortly before his death in 1960. It was also published in India in 1965. This text remains the single most important source for an understanding of Vedic maths. An understanding of Vedic maths may begin by examining its sixteen key principles or sutras. They are titled as follows; all from nine and the last from ten, vertically and cross-wise, by one more than the one before, transpose and apply, if the Samuccaya is the same it is zero, if one is in ratio the other is zero, by addition and by subtraction, by the completion or non-completion, differential calculus, by the deficiency, specific and general, the remainders by the last digit, the ultimate and twice the penultimate, by one less than the one before, the product of the sum and, finally, all the multipliers.

His description of Vedic maths commonly starts by identifying a series of qualitative axioms, that is, formulae written in words rather than quantitative symbols. Like all formulae, these axioms or summarise the approach adopted by Vedic maths to solve mathematical problems.

For example, one axiom is summarised by the following phrase, deduct all from nine but the last from ten. This rule can be applied to subtraction involving base ten numbers. For example, to deduct 234 from 1000, 2 and 3 are subtracted from 9 and 4 is subtracted from 10. These three subtractions yield 7 and 6 and 6 respectively, being 766.

Similarly, another Vedic axiom holds that long multiplications can be performed vertically plus crosswise. To demonstrate, we can multiply 34 by 27. According to the Vedic maths sets out a three stage process. First, multiply vertically the last two figures of the numbers we are multiplying; that is, 4 times 7 equals 28, so we hold the 8 and carry forward 2. Second, multiply crosswise and add the results; 3 times 7 plus 4 times 2 equals 29, plus the 2 which we carry forward to produce 31; we write 1 and carry forward 3. Finally, multiply vertically the first two figures of the numbers we are multiplying, 3 times 2 equals 6, plus the 3 which we carry forward to yield 9. So moving right to left, our answer is 918.

Teachers that do use the system generally report that Vedic mathematics can successfully engage some students that have responded poorly to mathematics as conventionally presented.

Do You Want To Start An Internet Business?

May 10th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in business

I know a lot of people who have an idea for an internet business. They just need to know where to begin. When we talk, I encourage them to learn how to find and use keywords in their niche. Keywords are crucial because they are the basic building blocks when you start an internet business. You use keywords in your articles. Google finds your keywords in your titles and in the body of your article and ranks your page higher. People find your page because you are closer to the top, and you get more traffic. With more traffic comes more sales. It is that simple.

So it makes no sense to just pull keywords out of thin air. People will not find your articles that way. Once article can include up to five or six keywords, so I let the keywords dictate what I write about. All that matters is what people want to know. If you keep that in mind, you will get very rich on the internet.

Your top keyword should be in the title of the article, preferably at the beginning of the title. If I am typing in “webinar strategy,” and I go on to Google and see an article called “Webinar Strategy: Four Ways To Promote Your Business,” I am likely to look at that article. It is relevant to what I want to know.

Remember your title serves two purposes. It should have the keyword in it, but it should also generate some curiosity because you want people to read your article. you want them to see you as an expert on the topic, and you want to get the backward links.

When they go to your site from your article, they will sign up for your list and get whateve other information you have. You should also repeat your top keyword a few times in the article itself and even sprinkle less competitve keywords throughout the body of the article and rank in Google for those, too. You can end up doing double duty with these less competitive keywords.

So begin by doing your research. Figure out exactly what people are typing into the search engines for your niche. Then use those keywords as much as possible. You will see a difference in the amount of traffic AND your sales!

Stephen Beck can help you learn what it takes tostart an internet business and how to make your first $1000 on the internet. Pick up a FREE link to his webinar replay, where he explains exactly what you should do: http://www.YourOnlineBasics.com.
