Blogging For Money: Three Vital Secrets For Success

August 21st, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Blogging

Thousands upon thousands of people make money blogging every single day, and so can you. But, there are many mistakes that can be made.

I’ve been blogging for ten years. In the early years, blogs were a curiosity, and traffic flowed without effort. Nowadays, blogging is a challenge. Let’s look at three vital secrets for success.

1. The right content is essential. Understand your target audience before you even start your blog. Get to know them, understand what their needs are, and be as focused as possible. When you understand them, it will be much easier for you to select an appropriate topic for them.

This is a stumbling block for many people new to blogging for money. When you decide on a topic, conduct a quick search to make sure that people are actually looking for that information. If there’s no demand for your topic, you’ll have a hard time generating traffic to your blog. If this is the case, consider a different topic.

2. People need to be able to find your content. Say you’ve just put up your blog and you’ve added twelve posts. That’s great, but you’ve just gotten started. Popular blogs can have hundreds, even thousands of posts, and the top blogs can have as many twenty or more posts in a single day.

Of course, this is a deluge of content, and as a single blogger, you can’t compete with it. However, you need to take note of what the top blogs do. This means that you’ll need to create at least one new post every day, preferably more. Why? Because readers must be able to find your content.

One of the first ways for people to find your content is through your RSS feed. In less than a week after starting your blog, your feed should be indexed. If you submit your blog’s RSS feed to blog directories, you can get indexed even faster.

3. Visitors must be able to interact with your content. After you have regular readers, you need them to respond to your content. This goes beyond them simply posting comments. You need true interaction. You want them to click your links and buy your products, whether your own products, or affiliate products, or buy your services.

If you keep these three points in mind: create the right content, make your content easy to find, and encourage interaction with your content, you’ll be much more successful as you try to make money blogging.

Blogging For Money With A Long Term Preparation

August 9th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Blogging

Many men and women dream of blogging for revenue, and this goal is not far beyond the reach of someone with average intelligence, a willingness to work difficult, and a fundamental grasp of blogging technology. Even so, extremely few people manage to reap the profits they want from their blog page. Most folks who attempt to produce dollars with their blogs do not succeed for two reasons. Usually, bloggers have unrealistic expectations of how fast their readership will grow and how a lot dollars they’ll make, and when these expectations aren’t met the disappointment can crush the desire to continue blogging. The other trap that many bloggers fall into has to do with lack of planning. If you want to turn a income as a blogger, the key to accomplishment would be to make a realistic plan and stick with it.

To succeed at blogging for income, the principal thing that you will need to have is a big readership. The higher your site visitors, the additional advertisers will agree to pay you. Even so, cultivating the typical site visitors that you may have to have in order to make a income isnt easy. As much more and much more blogs appear each day, having a fantastic notion or a wonderful writing style is no longer sufficient to obtain attention. You have to be in a position to marketplace your weblog effectively.

Too quite a few bloggers devote all of their time writing posts and almost no time advertising and marketing their project. To be specific, updating as frequently as you’ll be able to is a great method to keep your weblog higher on blogrolls and higher in weblog search engines like technorati, and once your readers know that you update frequently they’ll return for your internet site on a standard basis.

Even so, it doesn’t matter how usually you update if nobody is reading your page, so dont skimp on the time that you spend drawing website visitors for your web site. To generate your dreams of blogging for revenue a reality, attempt decreasing your number of posts and using some of that time to draw new visitors by setting up link exchanges with other bloggers, producing contacts within the blog community, and following other established modes of winning site visitors.

Obviously, even if you’re a marketing genius or have a genuinely fantastic idea for a weblog, achievement just isn’t going to happen overnight. Building the kind of readership that blogging for profit requires takes time, and in all likelihood it will probably be at least many months before you are able to turn a lot of a profit. Attempt to remain committed to your blogging project during this initial rough period. To stay motivated, set goals for how often you’ll update and how numerous readers you intend to attract, and then reward yourself for sticking with your strategy.

How To Drive Visitors To Your New Blog.

August 5th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Blogging

If you’re prepared to swap good quality content for targeted traffic, there are numerous of different traffic tactics that can be used to propel your marketing campaigns, and ultimately, flood your site with qualified visitors.

One of these strategies comprises article marketing. Using marketing with articles, you just generate keyword-rich written content, submit it into the popular article directory sites and await website visitors to begin flooding your website. The downside to article marketing is it does require a bit of time, in particular if you plan to create the majority of your articles on your own.

Nevertheless, there’s one misconception to article marketing which has kept a lot of new marketers from checking out the unbelievable potential to supply targeted visitors.

Many small business owners think that it’s all in the number of the articles you distribute as opposed to the quality. In truth, even though the more articles you’ve got in circulation, the additional visitors you’ll receive, focusing first on creating rich, high quality and specific articles for your market will help you produce TARGETED visitors.

Therefore, whilst you might have less traffic, the visitors you should get will be genuinely enthusiastic about what you have to provide.

To generate your initial article marketing campaign, you need to have 5-10 quality articles created. Your articles aren’t required to be longer than four hundred words long, but ensure that you have selected a keyword-rich subject for each article that you’re planning to publish to the article submission sites.

The titles you use with all your articles will certainly ultimately determine the exposure you will attain as both the important search engines like Google.com and Yahoo.com, as well as the article directory sites themselves, will classify and rank your article content depending on the keywords and phrases found within your titles.

You also want to just remember to repeat your principal keyword in the first few lines of every article you create. This should help you get coverage in the various search engines, who’ll publish a part of your article when someone enters relevant keywords and phrases into the various search engines.

Then there is also another significant aspect to keep in mind: Most of the article directories will not allow duplicated content material, meaning you should submit your unique content into these directories first, wait for approval – and then submit this content into other directories.

Additionally keep in mind that you won’t just generate customers from direct site visitors who read your articles, however, if webmasters decide to publish your content on their sites, you’ll gain extra publicity off their site visitors, as well!

Blog Settings You Should Update To Help Your SEO

August 5th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Blogging

You already know the basics of marketing with a blog, right? You set up your blog, find a good quality topic, identify the keywords you need to use, write a killer article, post it to your site, ping it and send it to the bookmarking sites. Then it’s all about letting the search engines find it, index it and move your site up in their rankings. When the rankings rise you get 46 thousand people to see your website tomorrow. Obviously it doesn’t happen quite that quickly. In fact your blog settings could actually be causing this to take much longer.

I’m going to tell you about a few blog settings that you can update so that this stops happening to you.

Settings Of Your Permalinks – Most permalink settings on ready-to-go blogs are set so that there are numbers used to differentiate one post from another. The end of your permalink looks like this: domain.com/p?567. Guess what Google thinks of 567… not a thing. The permalink for your posts are a lot more important to the search engines if they contain your keywords. And… your keywords should be in the title of your post. Your blog settings should be altered so that the name of the post replaces the 567 part of the permalink. Be aware – if you’ve been blogging for a while and have old posts you will need a plugin of some kind that handles the change in your links. A plugin by John Goodley will do this. It’s called Redirection (2.1.25). Your permalink should also be streamlined if it includes generic words. All of the search engines like streamlined permalinks so you should alter it so that it is short, has your keywords but still makes sense to someone who sees it.

The Canonical URL For Your Website – Sometimes the search engines think that your one website is actually two different sites with exactly the same information on them. This is bad. Your site can be accessed both by using the “www” prefix and by not using it and unless you tell them, the search engines think it’s two different sites. You need to update the settings on your blog so this doesn’t happen. Google Webmaster tools will let you set the canonical address you want to use. The Redirection plugin from above will also let you set one canonical address.

Duplicate Content – Most blogs come out-of-the-box assuming that you want people to find content on your site as many ways as possible. This is great, except the search engines hate it. If you have posts that show up under the post title but can also be found if you search by date, by author, by tag and by category it’s good for your readers but bad for the search engines. They will very likely see this as the same content showing up five times. They hate this. If you want to keep these options available to your readers you need to update your blog settings to tell the search engines to not index them. A plugin called Install Robots Meta – Joost DeValk will do allow you to do this if the option isn’t available in your theme.

I’ve only listed a few of the items here that you need to update so you can get the most optimization from your blog. You should definitely do a little research to look for the others. Several one time updates will give you increased SEO results many times over.

NY Yankees Merchandise On The Rise

August 5th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Blogging

NY Yankees merchandise is much more popular than ever now that The Boss has left the stadium. Many are the opportunities – in fact, more numerous than ever before, it would seem, as a casual glance around online and off suggests – to sell everything from an NY Yankees flag to a NY Yankees clock, only now with Steinbrenner’s own mug along with the team logo.

Indeed, a disinterested observer might even mistake him for the Yankees mascot, given the ubiquity of images since his passing! NY Yankees merchandise is a huge business, and it was Steinbrenner himself who made it so. Like no other club owner, he turned an already storied brand into a literal franchise, complete with its own cable television channel.

Steinbrenner revolutionized the business of baseball by being the very first owner to capitalize on other methods of making money beyond the games themselves. Under his stewardship, the NY Yankees went from a ten million-dollar outfit to one worth over a billion.

The business of the Yankees may now change under the helm of his two sons, particularly Hank, who is said to resemble his father very much in temperament. But merchandising deals are expected to proceed as they ever have, with a slew of products bearing the famed team logo and cap insignia – and now, for a while yet at least, the face of the man who has been most often associated with the ball club for almost four decades.

Indeed, it would be fitting should he become a brand in himself now, as in some ways he almost was in life. Charismatic CEOs transcend their companies, and one wonders whether The Boss himself might be looking down on his most successful business venture this very moment, even as he was wont to do in life.

Earning By Means Of A Blog

August 5th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Blogging

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past 3 years, you probably know what a blog is by now. Every single internet marketer has tried blogging as a means to make money online. It’s the easiest website to set up, with WordPress making blogging an almost no-coding-involved process.

So when does a blog start earning money? In order to have a successful blog, you need a great layout, original content, and a way to make cash from your content. Your blog must earn or it’s becomes just another useless virtual property that demands updates and maintenance.

Here are some suggestions on how to earn online using a blog…

You can rent out your blog’s sidebar, or any other spot that merchants can use to set up shop. If it’s difficult to find advertisers, use an ad network like google or chitika. Just remember to read the terms of agreement thoroughly so that you don’t inadvertently lock yourself out of these advertising systems. Set aside a prime location on your blog to offer to advertisers.

But you still need to maintain the quality of your blog even if you’re selling advertising space. If your blog looks spammy with blinking banners and big ads, your readers will go away.

You can also become an affiliate for products that you like. You just pick the most profitable affiliate programs and go with these. Your readers will see through you if you’re just promoting a product but you don’t mention using it.

But there’s a drawback to being a blogger and an affiliate. Your content must be niched. For instance, if you’re blogging about healthy food all the time, you can sell diet products and gym equipment. This is easy enough to do but you won’t be able to write about personal stuff that isn’t related to your niche regularly anymore.

Using a blog as a moneymaker is not at all easy. You will have a subscriber base that expects you to post regularly, and an advertiser base that expects high volume of traffic from your blog. You will also need to join directories, communities, discussions and what-not to keep the traffic coming.

If you’ve done your best to make your blog popular and lucrative, you can do what some of the most successful marketers have done. You can sell your blog. Forums like digital point and sitepoint are places where you can sell your blog.

Those who are persistent enough have earned a lot. Some blogs are relevant and others are very compelling. Some marketers hire ghostwriters to write in their stead.
