Where The Work Out DVD Came From
How did the work out DVD come about, you question?
Before I can even share with you the best work out DVD exercises I have tried, I must share with you how they have even come about to begin with!
So, what exactly is a work out DVD and what does it do for you?
You may deny it, but I know that a lot of you older folks out there have seen at least one syndicated episode of a work out show on the public access channels. They were very old work out shows featuring a smiling man and a smiling woman wearing very form-fitting fitness bodysuits, and they were there for your fitness! Yes, those fitness instructors on TV were always smiling, but they made sure to keep up the good attitude so you could follow their aerobic moves properly.
Of course, during those decades there were some simple jingles and basic images flashing across the screen to lighten the mood even more. While you saw nothing but the TV fitness instructors’ smiles, you wondered why they weren’t breaking any sweat while you also weren’t, either.
Secretly, I would stare in amazement at these TV exercise personalities’ spandex attire and wonder where I could get myself a nice leotard like theirs.
I know you can recall these silly broadcasts! I promise I will not pass any judgement on you if you are a secret ex-Richard Simmons’ fan. The same goes for being an ex-Body Buddy. There wasn’t really any other option to achieve your fitness (without having to pay for the gym), so it’s highly understandable.
Thanks to technology, the VCR came to life. And, people were able to see many things as many times as they wanted to. This includes seeing a work out routine. Not only were these recorded videotapes able to reach so many people, they could reach the universe. All for the love of us folks who want to do our work out exercises at any given time of the day (and in the comfort of our own home).
With the luxury of having a television set (with a VCR) in our homes, we could collect those work out videos, pop our favorite one into the VCR, and exercise away.
Then, they brought on the advent of DVD players, where DVDs were so much more smaller (the same size as CDs) and could hold twice as much information on each side.
What an even more fantastic way to be able to work out at home. Not only did these work out DVDs take up far less space than work out videos, they had space on the top side for some neat little graphics or pictures of a swimsuit model, or an extremely muscular bodybuilder. Surely, seeing images of that were a bigger incentive to keep lifting those weights and doing those jumping jacks a little bit harder.
