Guidelines To Save Power
If you want to gift your successors a greener and safer planet to live, then start saving electricity from now onwards. It can become a crisis if not conserved at the right time. Nobody can think of the life where there would be no electricity. It would be an absolute nightmare. Electricity is used for the operation of almost everything such as computers, televisions, mobile phones, washing machines etc. If we do not take a step right now then it may become too late to restore anything.
First of all, make it a habit to switch off all the electrical switches when they are not in use. You can use a power strip which allows you to switch off all the switches with a single trip off. In addition, unplug the chargers that are not in operation. Some homeowners keep their chargers plugged in even if they are not in use. Such a practice should be avoided.
Do not use the appliances at their highest possible range. They consume a lot of power at that level. Fix them to a comfortable range and keep adjusting thermostat at normal temperatures.
Use your refrigerator at a temperature range of 37 to 40 degree F. At these values, it uses less electricity. Do not forget to cover all the liquids and food placed inside the refrigerator because uncovered food can lose moisture. Due to this moisture, the machinery and the compressor have to work hard and hence, refrigerator consumes more electricity.
Instead of using bulbs, use compact fluorescent lamps. They consume less power and are durable. Moreover, their lifespan is 8 to 15 times more than that of incandescent bulbs. They consume about 3 to 5 times lesser power than incandescent bulbs. Such efficiency makes them more desirable. Use of compact fluorescent lamp also diminishes the influence of green house effect.
Avoid opening the doors of the refrigerator and oven frequently. Due to this, they consume more electricity in order to maintain temperature. Once the temperature faces an aberration, it takes a lot of time and power to attain the same temperature again.
Rely on sunlight instead of artificial light. Turn off the lights and unused appliances while leaving the room. If you have installed a dimmer switch for lights then dim them as much as possible.
Save electricity and save your planet. Spread awareness about energy conservation that our planet stays green.
