June 11th, 2009 Posted in Arts & Entertainment

‘Megatron’ is one of the leading characters in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. He is the portrayal of bad in the world, which exists from the very origin of the universe. They become a reason of disturbing serenity and bringing demolition. Megatron is the chief of Decepticons, as we have seen in the part 1 of Transformers.

In Transformers 2007, we saw Megatron in a frozen condition unable to move or fight. His followers, the small Constructions release him from this state of immobility. Then we saw the traits of his character. Megatron though is a negative character, yet he has many positive elements in him.

He is a flawless leader, who created a persistent power for achieving his goal; his will power. He not only brings in a new life in the war but also acts as an inspiration for his team of Decepticons. He is a cold-blooded assassin, and does not think for a moment before killing anyone. In the first movie of Transformers, just as the deadly ice around him melts, he starts killing. Megatron is a swift and clear-headed leader, who has a vivid objective in mind: war and win.

Megatron is an embodiment of dare and strength. He is the one who pushes everyone towards battle. In the sequel i.e. Transformers 2, Megatron makes a comeback to take revenge from the good forces who were the cause of his evasion in the previous part. He is pulled back to life once again by Constructions using lifeless robots parts.

This is a clear sign that his followers believe that he is the one who can lead them to win the battle against the Autobots. Else, another reason for resurrecting him is that he has scores to settle with Sam and rest of his fellows. His revenge has a fire in it. It is hard to defeat him once he has regained so much power and strength. Megatron’s revenge is adamant like his nature and his devilish immorality.

To subvert the good forces of Humans and Autobots, and to achieve his goal of taking revenge, Megatron get help by numerous Decepticons and Constructions / Devastators, new and old. These include Starscream, Soundwave, Ravage, Scorponok and Blackout, The Fallen, Constructions: Scavenger, Hightower, Long Haul, Mixmaster, Rampage, Scrapper, Overload, Demolisher, Sideways, Scalpel, and Isabel Lucas.

He is the brother of Optimus Prime, debased and gone down to evilness because of the ill designs of the Fallen. The revenge of Megatron makes him mad and his wrath makes him the rival of his own brother. This condition of Megatron’s revenge holds a scriptural reference of Abel and Cain.

The movie Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has a remarkable projection of revenge. This is the revenge of evil against good. This is an ever-going quest that is similar to the literary works and in Biblical works too. With this subject, let us see whether this movie has the potential to become a classic or not, with the grand subject of revenge.
