When you know that the generation gap is taking on the relationship between you and your kids, it is a bit tough to urge your kids to gear up on school, even simple things like urging them to learn to type early.
Being a parent means that you will aim nothing but the best thing for your son or daughter. It sure is a big pressure for the parents to make sure that their kids are faring well in school. The age and generation gap though is a big enough reason for them to be taken aback. It is a bit complicated for both parents and children to meet.

We may recall our teachers who would still be satisfied to receive our assignments written by our hands. Although there are times when we would have to use a typewriter for our assignments, it was not really as common as they are today when our kids would have to use a computer for our assignments.
Children today:
Since the dawn of the Internet age, it did not take long for our schools to acquire the students to learn to use the computers. Assignments and other paperwork become required to be encoded in the computer. Other computer applications are in use with the Internet.
Some parents may even found daunting when they try to learn the latest in the technology such as the Internet and computers. This can lead to their predicament in teaching their kids to learn early about the basics in computers. Kids may even be surprised when they know about their parents inability and less knowledge about the computers and the Internet.
Yet again, as parents, it is our responsibility to make sure that our kids are not far behind to their generation. We can do that by resorting to some help in making them learn early about the basic knowledge in computers.
Remember that the only thing you have to bear in mind that you would have to show your kids you are evolving with the world. They may think you are frozen in time, which is of course not true. When they see in you that the need is valid, you will not have to fall on your knees just to convince them to do what you want them to do, to help them learn the things they need to learn.
